The Far Grove

Take a peek in my closet…

I was going to post yesterday, but I felt *awful*.  A little better today, but still not good enough to be in the mood to concentrate on anything.  But still, I did get another idea for possible jewellery, and again the inspiration came from Skip Beat.  (Much gratitude to Nakamura for her attention to detail.)  Alas, I may have mentioned it, but…I hate to sew.  Why do I have to keep coming up with ideas that require me to use a sewing machine.  Yes, I do have one.  Why, if I hate it?  Well, let’s just say that that’s what I’m like.  I hate not being able to do something I get an idea for because I don’t have the knowledge or the tools, so I collect them all, even if I never use them.  This is not a good thing.

Well, though, ideas for accessories naturally DO come from clothing, and thus you’re bound to think of things that will require a sewing machine sooner or later.

So, today’s entry is about clothes.  And since this blog is about MY art and accessories, they will be MY clothes.  Want to see some of my favourite outfits/pieces?  Well, even if you don’t, I’m going to show them.

To start…I don’t really like jeans.  I find them uncomfortable and sloppy…too casual.  But they are too ubiquitous to avoid entirely, and there are a few types I like.  If they have unusual seaming, or if there are a lot of zippers, straps, belts or pockets going on, there’s a good chance I’m going to be interested.  They also have to be snug, as my legs and bottom get totally lost in relaxed jeans.  Here’s one of the less than half dozen pairs I own…you’ll probably see why I bought them right away:

They’re cut so long that I have to wear MINIMUM three inch heels to keep them from dragging on the ground.  So, being who I am, I wear five inch heels with them. :)  (No such thing as too tall!  My five inchers make me six feet tall, and I feel like superhero in them.)

But all in all, I much prefer dresses.  Here are four of my favourite outfits, sans shoes and accessories.  It may not be obvious, but I really dislike black.  It makes an excellent accent, but I feel gloomy and damp and depressed if I wear dominantly black outfits.  As long as the black is the secondary colour, though, it is an evil I must live with.  I DO wear a lot of blue, though, and other cool colours like lavender and my most flattering colour, a piercing cyan.   (Cyan usually looks gross on most complexions.  What is WITH me?  It’s as weird as having your best colour be yellow, isn’t it?)

I spend MOST of my time in PJs and exercise gear, but when I leave the house, there’s a good chance you’d see me in one of these, or something like them.  I have a LOT of clothes.  I should record a few more of my favourite outfits…I might get more ideas from them.

But then, do I really want more ideas that might force me to think about pulling out my sewing machine?
