Autumn Sea
I done it. Autumn Sea is complete, and I really like the contents. The toppers contain apple coral, mosaic shell, red lip shell heishi, natural shell heishi, and whole seashells of a type I cannot name. (Because I do not know the name.)
Everything in this set is natural…no colouring at all has been done to the beads/shells/heishi. Cool, right? :D Things like this always make me want more supplies, even though I’m already drowning in them. I can’t likely ever make these again as I don’t have source for the supplies…the apple coral and the tiny shells were found by luck and I can’t buy them again exactly like this.
I’ll show you the photo that I labelled, first:

And now the full view…don’t they look a little bit ‘mermaid-ly’? :

LOVE the new sticks, Krista! These and Dry Rain are beautifully inspired!
And I just wanted to let you know that I was talking you up on my forums today at http://www.thelonghaircommunity.com. I have some pics of my hair done up with your Amazons and people went crazy over them! I hope that’s reflected in the store, I’m always happy to support a real artist!
Take care and best of luck with the biz!

Wow, that was very kind of you…thanks
And they look great in your hair…and the background you used (when you shot the picture outside) matches your hair and the stick! That’s quite a lot of hair you’ve got. It looks like you actually need the wood sticks rather than bone ones, you’ve got such a mass. Oh and it looks like I’ve just gotten a sale from one of your forum friends as well.
I always think it funny that a maker of hairsticks (such as myself) should have such short hair. But everyone has a differtent face/head shape, right? With my little face with the pointed chin, I just get overwhelmed by long hair and look plain and boring, but with short hair I look more pixie-like. The only way to have long hair for me is to have it in spiral curls, which looks very good, but perming long hair is a bad idea and there’s no way I’d take the hours needed to curl it daily. -_-
Speaking of hair, I’m going to do something drastic to mine at the beginning of next month. I’m dying it copper.
I know long hair is more feminine and romantic but one big perk of very short hair is that you can do insane things to it because you cut it so often that damage isn’t an issue.
Thanks again for your lovely recommendation at your community. I’m bad, I should update this blog daily, but being in a small creative slump, I just can’t manage it right now. I’ll have to see what I can do to un-slump. ![]()

Thanks for all the compliments! And yes, I have oodles of hair, although it is pretty fine so I am eager to try bone sticks in the near future.
I miss being able to experiment with my hair. I used to dye it every crayola color imaginable, but that was not only damaging, it was hard to maintain. Oh yeah, and that whole, “I need a professional job” thing. It sucks that people are too narrow-minded to look past a little individual expression in the business world. But your hair is gorgeous and I agree, quite pixie-like.
Anywhoo, for your other readers or customers who might want to check out the forums, I realized I mispelled the link!! The actual address is http://www.longhaircommunity.com . Enjoy!

Bone sticks are also much better if you only want to put PART of your hair up/back. So there is that, even for people with very thick or very long hair.
I’ve had a blue streak, and orange tips, but I have never never bleached more than the tips before, so it should be really interesting to suddenly NOT be dark-haired any more. I only want to try it; I’m suited to copper and I’ve always wondered what I’d look like with hair on the lighter end of the spectrum. And my hair is SO healthy…and hair looks really good damaged when it is very short anyway…I figure now is the time to go for it, as by summer I will probably want to cut it right down to a pixie…about three inches long, root to tip, all over. As sort as a man’s hair, in other words.
That’s one great thing about being an artist…of any type. You’re expected to stand out a little…be ‘different’. You can dye your hair green and people will just say ‘oh, well, she’s an artist’. Or you can get tattoos or weird piercings…really, you can get away with murder, visually speaking, when you have an ‘artistic’ career.
Yes I found the community but the link might be of interest to other viewers ![]()
