If it’s a choice between smelling like strawberries or reducing the appearance of cellulite…
It’s impossible right now to update this blog regularly because I haven’t even at atom of creative energy at this time, so I have nothing to tell. I do have an ‘industrial’ necklace idea, and I also want to finish that crocheted lace choker and earring set, and I also have an idea for a pair of ‘Autumn Sea’ hairsticks which should be pretty interesting. They’ll all be nice to show off when they’re done, but right now I have no confidence in naming an expected completion date.
I did get my handmade paper order, though, and my Gudonya order. The paper is lovely looking but unfortunately it is too coarse to be easy to write on. It’s manageable, but if you have nice handwriting, this will likely mess it up…it forces your writing to be larger because of the wide, coarse texture. I’ll have to see if I can find just the right type of pen for it…perhaps a very smooth gel pen would work better. It’s pretty, anyway.
And the Gudonya order has incredible scents, really lovely. I’ve realized though that I already have quite a few perfect products in my, er…’beauty regime’? That sounds ridiculous, but it works well enough. Anyway, though the Gudonya stuff is superior in scent and appearance, the truth is that I have a moisturizing body wash that leaves my skin softer after being washed, and the Gudonya stuff doesn’t have that extra moisturizing ability, so though I have more FUN using the lovely pink sweet-smelling Sweetpea ‘whipped clean’ body wash, my skin gets more benefit from the plain old commercial Olay moisturizing body wash.
The Strawberry Salty Dawg shampoo seems quite likeable, and the conditioner is nice, too, but I’d already found the absolute perfect shampoo and conditioner for my ultra-fine, mostly-normal-but-leaning-slightly-towards-oily-with-a-dry-and-allergic-scalp hair. Yes, I’m high maintenance when it comes to skin matters. I use Marc Anthony’s INSTANTLY THICK shampoo and conditioner, which makes my hair smoother, thicker, and shinier, and the Gudonya items can’t compete. Though the smell of them is HEAVENLY. Right now I want to use up the bottle of Strawberry Salty Dawg because the smell is so great, but I’ve already reverted to the INSTANTLY THICK conditioner because using the other stuff made my hair too fluffy-and fly-away. Well, really it just reverted back to normal. My usual shampoo/conditioner makes my hair spectacular.
I also have a firming body lotion, so changing to a lotion that doesn’t have ‘firming’ abilities as well is not satisfying.
So overall, my favourite items from Gudonya would be solid perfume, deodorant (the deodorant I got, ‘Yuzu’, is heavenly, SO superior to commercial deodorants. It doesn’t stop sweat but it DOES stop smell so as long as you don’t perspire heavily enough to have dampness issues, I think you’ll really enjoy the lovely soft scent that a Gudonya deodorant will add.) lip gloss/balm and the ‘body kiss’ items. Those body kisses smell nice, though of course the citric acid adds a certain ‘vitamin C’ undertone, but the best part is that they leave your skin SUPER SOFT afterwards, you seriously don’t even need to apply moisturizer if you don’t feel like it.
So, if you don’t already have your ideal items, DEFINITELY give Gudonya a try. But if you already have a product that is perfect for you…a perfect shampoo or moisturizer, etc…then just stick with it, as you likely won’t find any other product that satisfies you as completely. For me, I’m going to buy some FOs and use them to scent my usual products myself, so that I get the WONDERFUL scents of homemade items such as those from Gudonya, along with all the great features of products that have been developed by huge commercial teams, like hair-thickening and skin-firming and so on.
But I’m definitely sticking with the Gudonya deodorant and will get kisses and solid perfume from them for sure.
My You Stink Soap order hasn’t come but I’ll review it when it does.
