The Far Grove

Portal and Spring Rain

There aren’t many shades of blue that look good with olive green.  But then again, I really dislike olive green, so that may not be a fair statement.  Olive green and sky blue, for example?  Putrid.

However, I did manage to find a darker shade of blue that goes pretty nicely with this olive-ish shade of the lovely and appropriately-named moss agate.  The style I made up to incorporate these unusual large stone rectangles…it’s odd, but I’m really attracted to these sticks.  And how about an odd name for an odd pair of sticks?  Sure!  Please have a look at Portal.  I’m really very happy with this pair; they’re my first shot at my current commission.

And a close-up…

I made a second pair immediately, of course…not olive green, unfortunately, as it is so hard to mix, but they ARE green and blue on a wooden stick.  Here’s something more muted and edging into the pastel-neutral territory, thrown in with a metallic look.  These are called Spring Rain:

Now I have to get out of here, as I have to package an order, mail it, and come back and start working on some gifts that I’m hoping to send out to a few friends around March 20th.  Thank goodness I didn’t put everything off, this year.  Procrastination is NOT actually one of my weaknesses.

Come on, someone pat me on the back, eh?

Portal is lovely! The blue and green go well together, as do the combination of spheres and cubes. It looks a little on the heavy side… what is the weight level on this one?

Thanks. :) It’s medium to medium-heavy…about a 3 or a 4.

I love the two new styles, they’re very cool and completely decorative.

I’d say that even if blue WASN’T involved, ^__________^

*love*

Amanda: Thanks. :) Of course I’d be happy to receive your order but I’m just as happy just to have people drop by and chat. :)

Elle: Thanks. :) Portal turned out just as I was hoping so I’m really happy with it. Now I just have to go poke Rumi to get her to notice that I posted this, so she can give me her approval or ask for another type.

Oh! They’re both so beautiful. I think I’m in love with the first though. <3 They’ll do nicely.

:) I’ll list Portal for you on Saturday…pick it up whenever you like. You already know that I’m planning to mail it on the 20th, so you won’t have to pay any shipping, and I’ll send it in a box that you can paint, I think.
