Makes me want to get back to the old forge!
It’s lucky that I have financial restrictions. Shopping on Etsy is just TOO good. I’ve made a lot of (small) purchases already and have developed a favourites list of sellers I’ve already purchased from and know the quality of, which I will tell you all about in future posts. Today’s post is on a new favourite, one I haven’t purchased from yet but certainly would buy from immediately, if I had a few hundred extra dollars floating around. I was so excited (in the low-key way I do excited, that is…it’s hard to tell by watching or listening to me, I know) when I found this shop because the jewellery is just SO gorgeous, so fantasy, so…mythic. Loooove. Please look at Revelate’s wonderful jewellery.
I could spend a fortune, there. I love the handmade look, too…crafted without appearing at all amateurish. (I really can’t stand the look of handmade jewellery that LOOKS like it was made by a hobbyist who hasn’t really perfected their technique.) I’m a little snobby that way but I like the hand formed, not PERFECTLY circular/straight/etc look of a hammered piece or the like. Makes me think of medieval things like swordsmiths and the like. ![]()

If you’re in love with classic metal-working, I highly recommend Speharb’s shop on Etsy. (I’m in no way affiliated, I just think they’re awesome!) They make gorgeous jewelry, hair pieces, and ornaments with copper bronze and silver. The mixed media pieces are especially beautiful!

Speharb’s work is lovely, but (and this is going to sound funny) I don’t have any personal use for hair slides or barrettes, with my super short hair (the picture of me in the curls if you’ve seen it in the cycling pics of me in the ‘about me’ area is the longest my hair has been in ten years, and I’ve cut it off since then…I just look SO much better with short short hair.) and I don’t like brooches or bracelets. Basically I am an earring and necklace person, plus odd jewellery like my leglets or bootles and so on. And cuffs and so on of course, though I can only wear very simple cuffs rather than the fancy ones that Thyme2Dream makes.
I also tend to like larger pieces than those. They ARE lovely but not my personal style. Thanks for the rec. ![]()
