Away

The trouble with ear-wraps is that everyone’s ears are very different sizes and shapes.  I have very small ears, so I automatically make small wraps that wouldn’t fit on other people.  I can make bigger ones if I remind myself to do so, but there will be NO getting away from the fact that people will have to put their wraps on and then bend them to fit their own ear best.  It can’t be done except in person.

That said, I now have some good wire…copper filled gold and silver…to make a few wraps to sell.  I think I can manage it but I’ll have to make them simpler.  The fancier they are, the heavier they are, and the more closely fitted they have to be to stay on and stay on comfortably.  Custom work that exact cannot be done over the internet.  I’d need a person to cast their ear in rubber or something and send me a mold. O.O  Too much trouble!  So they’ll have to be simpler and easier for one to customize themself.

Sorry for not posting yesterday but I was away all day.  That’s why no products were added to TFG, as well.  I’m also very worn out and need to dial back on things that stress me, though this blog isn’t one of them unless I start fretting about pictures and schedules.  No pictures for this entry!  But most will likely have them…I just MUST have pictures to look at in an entry.

Out of curiosity, did you ever move forward with making ear cuffs to sell on Etsy? I haven’t seen any and I completely understand how difficult they must be to make for online purchases!

No. I got some cuffs on Etsy and found that I was right…they’re very difficult to make and sell. The ones I got didn’t fit me and the larger one couldn’t be MADE to fit me either, and it was too heavy with all it’s decoration to sit properly. I’ll stick to ear-wraps, though honestly I don’t think I’ll make many of them, either. Even wraps are hard to make online because ears are so different and mine are tiny so it’s hard for me to judge the best universal size.
