FAQ: Custom orders
I do take custom orders. In fact, I kind of like them. If you wish to make one, here are some things you may wish to keep in mind. You may have no preference in some of the categories below…that is fine. Just make sure to include anything you really want as well as anything you really DON’T want. (Ex: must be natural black bone stick in strand style with mainly red beads, no white, no silver.) You can always look in the shop sections or the sold section and compare what you want to sticks that have already been made.
- Type of stick portion. Do you want wood or bone? Painted, papered, or natural?
- Colour of stick.
- Colour of beads.
- Colour of metal parts (gold, silver, etc.)
- Bead material. (Glass, plastic, stone…etc.)
- Stick style. (Strand stick? Topper? Dangle? Looped strand? Charm? Etc.)
Keep in mind that the more detailed you are, the more difficult it will likely be to fill your order. At the very least, it will take longer. For example, if you say you want a papered charm stick made with pink yuzen, a red cloisonné oval focal, and charms in the shape of a cat, spoon, cow and moon, well…that won’t be an order I can fill, because I’m very unlikely to have so many very specific supplies on hand. You can ask of course…asking is free. And you can even insist, but if you persist in wanting your pink yuzen red cloisonné cat-spoon cow-moon stick, well, you’re going to have to wait a long time as I make a new supply order and wait for it to arrive, and it’s going to be very expensive because I’ll have to pay extra for shipping and a smaller emergency supply order (much more expensive than larger orders.) But if you just want a pink dangle stick with red beads on gold-tone metal, that’s something that won’t cost you any extra at all in most cases, and I’ll be able to make it immediately. In other words, if you only specify items 2-4 and 6, I’ll always be able to help you. It is when you get very specific with individual supplies that things get trickier. But I will always attempt to fill a custom order. Just keep in mind that unusual requests must almost always take longer and cost more.
All you need to do to place a custom order is hit the ‘contact TheFarGrove’ link in the sidebar when you’re at my Etsy shop and send me a convo. Your message will be saved to my Etsy account and I will respond as soon as possible to find out what you want, get more details, give you pricing information, and so on.
